Sea Base St. Thomas, Virgin Islands this Summer
Scouts from Troop 64 will be going to High Adventure Sea Base in the U.S. Virgin Islands as Crew on a Sea Scout sailing vessel, June 11 – 17. Crews will fly into STT Airport and then take a pre-arranged taxi to Sapphire Bay Resort and Marina. Upon arrival at Sapphire Bay Resort the Crew meets with Sea Base staff and captains, completes a gear shakedown and reviews paperwork. After paperwork and shakedown is complete, the Crew boards their vessel and sets sail. Throughout the adventure, the Crew will go ashore to explore settlements, beaches and snorkel.
United States Virgin Islands (USVI) became a US Territory in 1917. Located in the Lesser Antilles; USVI is comprised of St. Thomas, St. John, St. Croix and 50 smaller islets and cays encompassing 133 square miles. The USVI boasts amazing hilltop summits, coral reefs and sailing waters propelled by constant trade winds. Natural beauty abounds on both land and sea.
Troop 64 still has availability for a couple more scouts or a scout and an adult for this incredible adventure. The trip is open to all Scouts who will be 13 years old by June 10 including scouts who have been to Sea Base in prior years who would like to go again. If you are interested contact Susan K.
