Glacier Lake Backpacking, Sep 11-13
We’ll hike about 5.5 miles to a beautiful mountain lake in the Tahoe National Forest. Starting location is Carr Lake Campground https://www.fs.usda.gov/recarea/tahoe/recarea/?recid=55594

For those that have been to Dinky lakes, the scenery is similar but the elevation is lower. As this is national forest, no reservations are required.

What? backpacking in the winter? Yes, it’s a great way to escape the holiday chaos and get back to nature. We have done this the past two years and have had nice weather—warmer than PV. I even walked barefoot on the beach last year. We will backpack into Coast Camp near Sculptured Beach, which has a really neat sea cave. It’s about 2 miles in and 3 miles out.
